John Dunk

An experienced manager with a global business perspective across a broad range of industries. The majority of my experience been gained with two large multinational organisations, Textron Inc and Akzo Nobel, International Paint Business Unit. I have held senior positions in Sales and Marketing and General Management and worked across a very broad-spectrum of business disciplines in industry with a particular emphasis on market development and business growth.

Having served for over 14 years on the Global Management Team for International Paint’s highly successful Protective Coatings business (revenues in excess of €800 million, operating in more than 40 countries) I am now looking to bring my experience and skills to businesses looking for advice but particularly in the areas of business growth and development.

With over 32 years working with two major international corporations I have seen and experienced the highs, lows, complexities and difficulties faced by businesses on the day-to-day basis. This has been not only at a high business level but also at a practical day-to-day level in sub business units of the companies I have worked with. So the focus is not all at the corporate ‘macro’ level it is also at the detailed day-to-day management decision making level which can make such a difference to success or failure.

I have also had formal Business Improvement training in tools and methods designed to clearly understand the nature of business issues and problems and develop a strategy plan to take the business forward. I have been instrumental in the development and implementation of a number of key business improvement programs which have delivered key improvements.
